The yard
Cruising Home is a 100% subsidiary of SRF Shipbuilding in the Netherlands and located at the SRF yard. This means we have all types of expertise, state-of-the-art premises and specialists in-house to ensure our – and your – ambitions are met. SRF has the latest and most professional facilities, allowing us to meet our full-service commitments. Proper tools and equipment are half the battle, after all.
Under the leadership of five partners, SRF has grown into a yard spanning more than 16,500 m² that is internationally renowned for its high-quality shipbuilding, complete refits and skilled repairs. Quality and service will always be at the heart of everything we do and a recent customer service survey showed that clients see our two core values as trust and full-service.
Boat lift
We have a boat lift available for vessels up to 30 metres and 120 tonnes whenever you need any repairs, refit work, inspections or regular maintenance.
Location
Based in Harlingen on the shores of the Wadden Sea, the Cruising Home yard is easily accessible by water, train or car and provides the ultimate base from which to sail your Cruising Home to any of the Frisian islands in the Wadden Sea.
Working well
A good working space is essential to properly and comfortably care for your houseboat. Our hall has a height of ten metres, enabling us to work on most vessels in a sheltered and dry environment.
Carpentry
High-quality craftsmanship with an eye for detail is what you can expect from the professionals in our carpentry department. A superior finish is always visible to all who step onboard and has a major effect on the value retention of your Cruising Home.
Before setting to work, we’d welcome the chance to show you all the options. By combining traditional craftsmanship with automation and top-quality machinery, we can guarantee joinery of the highest level. It’s the small details that make all the difference, which is why your interior and exterior is finished with all the care it deserves.
Technology and installation
Smartly functioning and well-suited technology is essential onboard your Cruising Home. The power supply should be seamlessly aligned to the increasing number of consumers, which is why we pay extra attention to the technical process in the early stages of the build.
Our Technology department installs equipment, engines, pumps and electrical components in the engine rooms and other technical spaces on your boat. During these installation activities we make the right preparations for fitting equipment and pipelines for a wide range of systems, from fuel and lubricant to pneumatics and hydraulics, then ensure everything is positioned in the right place. The onboard electrical system is also fitted by a dedicated department of expert technicians.
