The new CH Explorer
Completed in mid-July, the latest member of the Cruising Home fleet already has many admirers. The owners are delighted too with the exceptional design, superior performance and the option to travel the length and breadth of Europe. There are two clear defining factors that set this unique houseboat apart from anything else currently on the market:
…the first surprise
for all who step aboard this houseboat is the voluminous amount of space spread over the three decks. The lower deck has two luxury bedrooms, two bathrooms and a day head. On the main deck is a saloon, a helming position and a kitchen-diner. Topping it all is a sun deck with an outdoor galley and dinette, sun loungers and solar panels.
An ingenious layout has created around 30% more living space and generated a true sense of comfort (see more images of the CH 1500 Explorer). The spacious feel is reinforced still further by the large side windows that can be fully lowered to create a wonderful inside-out ambience.
…the second surprise
is that the houseboat sails like a motoryacht thanks to her streamlined hull and flared bow. The CH Explorer 1250 and 1500, the 1500 Ibiza and the 1750 all have CE category C certification and are designed to sail in coastal waters, estuaries, bays, lakes and rivers with winds up to force 6 on the Beaufort scale and a maximum wave height of 2 metres. The main engine gives the CH Explorer 1500 a cruising speed of 6 knots and a maximum speed of 9-10 knots, opening up the chance to take your houseboat all over Europe.

Cruising Home at Hiswa boat show
The famous Hiswa boat show, the largest in-water event in Northern Europe, will this year take place in Lelystad from Wednesday 28 August to Sunday 1 September. Cruising Home will be present at stand B-17 and have on display the remarkable new CH Explorer 1500. It will be our pleasure to give you a personal tour of this innovative houseboat.
